Seven guides, reviewed September 2026

Office Cleaning Guides

These office cleaning guides are written for Melbourne office managers, practice managers and business owners who buy cleaning but have never had to become experts in it. They cover budgets, cleaning checklists, visit frequency, contracts and how to pick a company. Each one answers the question first. When you are ready to act, our office cleaning service for Melbourne workplaces is here.

Which office cleaning guide should I read first?

Start with whichever office cleaning guide matches the job in front of you. Setting a budget? Read the cost guide. Writing a scope or checking your current cleaner? Use the checklist. Choosing or switching companies? Begin with the buying guide, then the contracts guide before you sign anything.

Most readers need two guides, not seven. An office manager replacing a cleaner who keeps missing the bathrooms usually wants the checklist, to show what was missed, and the contracts guide, to see how much notice they owe. A new business setting up its first office mostly needs the cost guide and the frequency guide, so the budget matches a sensible number of visits. The rest are there when a specific question comes up.

How they are written

Where does the information in these guides come from?

From the work itself. The prices come from our own quotes across Melbourne, the checklists from the scopes we write for real offices, and the contract advice from agreements clients have shown us from previous cleaners. Where a guide relies on law or pay rates, it links to the official source.

Cleaning prices move with wages, and cleaners' minimum pay comes from the Cleaning Services Award, whose rates change after each annual wage review. When that happens, we check every figure in these guides against our current price list and change the reviewed month shown under each guide's title. We do not take payment to mention products or other businesses, and there are no affiliate links anywhere on this site.

We are a cleaning company, so these guides naturally mention what we do. We have tried to make each one useful even if you never call us: the checklist works for any cleaner, the questions in the buying guide are ones you should ask us as well, and the contracts guide explains the clauses we would rather you refused elsewhere.

Read enough and want a real number?

Send your office size, suburb and preferred nights, and a guide price arrives by email, normally inside two business hours. It is the quickest way to test what the guides say against your own office, and there is nothing to sign until a walk-through has fixed the scope.

  1. Size, suburb, nights. That is all we need to start.
  2. Guide price by email. With GST already in.
  3. Free walk-through. Then a fixed scope and price.

Questions

Questions about the guides

Updates, sharing and what they do not cover.

How current are these guides?
Current as of the month shown on each one. Prices are rechecked whenever award wages change, which normally happens from the first of July, and any guide that relies on a rule or rate is checked against the official source at the same time.
Can I print or share them with my team?
Please do. The checklists are designed to be printed and pinned up, and the buying and contracts guides are often forwarded to a manager or finance team before a decision. Linking to a guide is fine; copying it onto another website is not.
Do the guides cover home or end of tenancy cleaning?
No. Everything here is about workplaces: offices, practices, studios and the amenities that go with them. Residential cleaning follows different rules and pricing, and we would rather point you to a specialist than stretch these guides to fit.
