How is office glass cleaned without streaks?
Office glass is cleaned without streaks by washing with a mild solution on a strip applicator, removing it with a professional squeegee in overlapping passes, then detailing the edges with a lint-free scrim. Spray-and-wipe with paper towel just moves the grime around, which is why so much office glass looks hazy.

Frames, tracks and sills are vacuumed first so grit does not scratch the glass.
- Wash the pane
A strip applicator and weak solution loosen prints, film and cooking residue.
- Squeegee it off
Overlapping passes from the top edge down, blade wiped between each pass.
- Detail and check
Edges finished with a scrim, then checked against the light from a low angle.
Frosted and printed films need a softer touch. Many meeting rooms have decorative manifestation strips or logos applied to the glass, and harsh scrapers or strong solvents lift their edges. We use a non-scratch pad and a neutral solution on filmed areas, and never run a blade across a decal.

The outside of high-rise office windows is cleaned by a height specialist, usually engaged by the building owner rather than the tenant. They use rope access, a building maintenance unit on the roof, or a boom lift, each with its own training, anchors and permits.
In most Melbourne office towers, external glass is part of the building's maintenance program and its cost comes through outgoings, so tenants rarely book it themselves. If your lease does make it your job, ask the building manager for the tower's approved facade contractor first; the anchor points and roof access are usually set up for them.
